Stopping the cycle of incarceration through community economic development.

Louisiana has the largest per capita population of incarcerated people in the world.

Upon release, most formerly incarcerated people return to economically depressed communities with few opportunities for housing, employment, and financial services.

As a result, over half of people released from prison will go back in five years.

RisingFoundations provides pathways to self-sufficiency for formerly incarcerated people

with an aim to stop the cycle of incarceration in low income communities.

In our unique workforce development program we promote small business development, access to safe and

affordable housing, and financial security, while rebuilding neighborhoods.
